The business cards handed out at ICFF were postcard size (4" x 6") and included the entire class. The card easily fit inside the take-away booklet and kept the same layout and text sizes. Our graphics team decided that including everyone on one contact card showed that this entire process was a collaboration between the entire class, we constantly had discussions about our products and booth design throughout the semester and everyone received input that helped bring the final concepts.
The take-away handout at ICFF was kept minimalistic to keep the focus on the products and their unique stories. Our graphics team decided that the idea behind each product was most important to uncommongoods, and also the best aspect of each product.
Our booth at ICFF followed the consideration of shifting the focus to the products and their stories, so the graphics are kept to a minimum and instead we focused on display.
Each member of the graphics team came with a different direction we could possibly take the design of our booth. I included sketches of my idea for a pattern and theme of colors for the handout, booth, and business card.
The Forever trivets were inspired by traditional cast iron that was passed down through family, it was kitchenware that was meant to last forever. Sustainable products interest me so when creating the trivets I wanted them to be made with recycled iron, either failed casts from the factory or scrap iron. The basic shape of each trivet is derived from the infinite symbol to represent the materials durability as well as the idea of sustainability through recycled materials.
